Queen Ameenata, Founder of the Sarauniya International Development Organization (SIDO) and Sarauniya of Fulbe, is honored to announce her virtual participation in the High-Level CARICOM Reparations Commission Talks, taking place in London, United Kingdom, from July 13–16, 2026.
This distinguished gathering brings together government officials, scholars, legal experts, policymakers, traditional leaders, and advocates from across the Caribbean, Africa, Europe, and the global African Diaspora to advance meaningful dialogue on reparatory justice for the enduring legacies of the transatlantic slave trade, colonialism, and their continuing social and economic impacts.
Queen Ameenata’s participation reflects her longstanding commitment to strengthening ties between Africa and the global African Diaspora through education, cultural diplomacy, humanitarian service, and international collaboration. As an advocate for unity, justice, and sustainable development, she believes that meaningful conversations surrounding reparations are essential to fostering healing, reconciliation, and equitable partnerships for future generations.
Throughout the conference, discussions will explore pathways toward reparatory justice, international cooperation, economic development, historical accountability, cultural preservation, and policies that promote long-term empowerment for people of African descent worldwide.
Speaking to her before the conference she stated “Reparations are about more than acknowledging history,”. “They represent an opportunity to build stronger relationships founded on truth, dignity, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to creating a more just future. I am honored to participate virtually in these important discussions alongside leaders dedicated to advancing justice for our communities.”
Her participation further aligns with the mission of the Sarauniya International Development Organization, which works to improve lives through humanitarian initiatives, educational partnerships, healthcare support, women’s empowerment, and the strengthening of relationships between Africa and its global Diaspora.
As global conversations surrounding reparations continue to gain momentum, Queen Ameenata remains committed to advocating for initiatives that promote historical understanding, international cooperation, and sustainable opportunities for communities of African descent around the world.
The Sarauniya International Development Organization extends its best wishes for a successful and impactful conference and looks forward to the meaningful outcomes that will emerge from these important deliberations.
